ABOUT US
The Jinka hospital
Was built at 2000 G.C and has 5 case team and 32 departments.
The Secondary Eye Care Unit
Was established at 2008. Since 2012 the unit is constructed of one general nurse, 2 ophthalmic nurses, an optometrist and one cataract surgeon. Currently once a year an outreach campaign to the local tribes is being held.

The Eye unit's objectives

Treating thousands of patients and performing hundreds of eye surgeries each year.

Operating a local independent medical unit for treating the population of the Lower Omo Valley.

Maintaining a working staff with scientific and medical capabilities, including annual training and refresher courses in specific fields.

Having the local team do outreach by offering treatments in remote communities.

Forming local, regional and international collaborations, which would offer scientific and operative support.
